For a free online valuation:

  • Enter your vehicle’s registration and mileage, followed by your email address, postcode and mobile number.

Your online valuation will be guaranteed for 4 days. This gives you the flexibility to book an appointment at a time that works for you and protects you from market fluctuations.

Booking an appointment:

  • After receiving your online valuation, choose your preferred branch and select an appointment date and time.
  • From here, enter your name, then check that the contact details displayed are correct.
  • Confirm your booking.

Selling your vehicle:

  • Arrive at your chosen webuyanycar branch at your pre-booked appointment time.
  • Our purchaser will inspect your vehicle and conduct a short test drive before offering you a price.
  • If you’re happy for us to buy your car, our purchaser will help you complete all the necessary paperwork.

All appointments are free, with no obligation to sell. On average, our appointments take just 20 minutes. Your appointment will include an appraisal of your vehicle and the completion of paperwork if you choose to sell.

Step-by-step appointment schedule:

  1. Arrive with your vehicle at your chosen branch at your scheduled appointment time.
  2. Our purchaser will appraise your car and carry out a short test drive which involves moving the vehicle several meters back and forth.
  3. Our purchaser will offer you a price to buy your car.
  4. If you do decide to sell your car, our purchaser will run through all the relevant paperwork and arrange for the money to be paid into your chosen bank account. You have the option to upgrade your payment to receive the money faster (an additional fee may apply). The paperwork to be completed includes:
    • Notifying the DVLA that your car has been sold and claiming a road tax refund (if applicable).
    • Updating the vehicle logbook (V5C).
    • Payment of any outstanding finance with an in-date settlement letter.
  5. Following your appointment, you will receive a unique link which will enable you to track your payment. Your Payment Tracker link will provide an estimated payment date.

If you do decide to sell your car, please ensure that you have made arrangements for your return journey.

Documents:

Your ID:

  • Photographic proof of ID (e.g. driving license or passport).
  • Proof of address from the last 9 months (e.g. utility bill, council tax bill or bank statement).

Financial details:

  • Your bank details (so we can set up the payment).
  • If your car has outstanding finance, an in-date letter from the car finance company confirming the settlement amount.

If you do decide to sell your car, you will be leaving your car with us. Please ensure that you have made arrangements for your return journey.

We buy cars and vans with:

  • Outstanding finance.
  • Private registration plates.
  • Damage (or in need of repairs).
  • Less than 6 month’s MOT.
  • ‘SORN’ or ‘non-runner’ status.
  • Import status.

You can also sell a vehicle on behalf of a family member, friend or company (including in the case of bereavement). In these circumstances, it is necessary to bring extra documentation.

If your car does not have a valid MOT, is SORN (or a non-runner), we can still buy your car, but you will need to arrange for it to be transported to the branch ahead of your appointment.

By default, payment will be made directly to your bank account within 4 working days after the day of the sale, using our standard electronic bank transfer service. There is no charge for this service.

We also offer a next working day payment service for an additional fee of £24.75 - and a same-day option to selected customers for an additional fee of £29.75. (We do not charge a next or same-day fee when we are offering to buy your car for less than £500.)

Payment tracking

After completing your appointment, you will be sent a unique link for tracking your payment. Your Payment Tracker link will show information on your payment’s progress, including an estimated payment date. This unique link will be sent:

  • By email (contained within your invoice PDF): The email subject line will read ‘Purchase Invoice’ and the sender will be ‘webuyanycar’. Please check all areas of your inbox including your junk or spam folder.
  • By SMS (if you supplied a valid mobile number when booking your appointment): The text message will be from ‘webuyanycar’.
